ROOTS            The Latin roots salv and salut mean "safe, healthy."  The Latin root sci means "to know."  The Latin roots scrib and scrip mean "to write."               

1.        salvation                        deliverance from sin n.

2.        salvage                        to save something after it appears to be lost v.

3.        salute                             to greet with courtesy and kind words v.

4.        salve                             a healing ointment n.

5.        science                          the study of the wonders of the universe n.

PREFIXES    The prefixes circum- and circ- mean "around."  The prefix para- means "beside; alongside."

SUFFIXES       The suffixes -ence and -ency means "state, quality, act of."
