Welcome to Our 4th/5th Grade Website

 May 31, 2010

The end of this school year is over.  It was a great year.  I was blessed with teaching the 4th and 5th grade classes together.  I had wonderful students who helped make it a fantastic transition from teaching only 4th graders.

We went on amazing field trips this school year.  We were able to visit Conner Prairie in the fall.  The students and parents who chose to ride in the hot air balloon were able to on our Conner Prairie field trip.  Oh course, I had to ride in it.  The ride was awesome.  I loved it.

We went to the Westside Garden Plaza once a month to share activities with the residents.  Mrs. Valentine organized these outings for us.  I had many of the children tell me “Thank you for bringing me here”.  What a blessing to see our young people interacting with the elderly and enjoying their time with them.

We went to the Indiana State Museum around Christmas time.  The band members played many songs under the direction of             Mr. Stiffler.  The students were able to enjoy touring the museum and they got to watch the movie, The Christmas Carol.

Our class participated in mock businesses at JABIZ Town.  The students looked so professional in their good clothes and working in the business that was assigned to them.  They did a great job learning what had to be done at their business and carrying out the tasks.

We were able to go to an Indians vs. Yankees game at Victory Field.  The students enjoyed rooting for the home team.  It was a fun day for the adults and children.

Part of me is sad that the school year has come to an end.  I could not have asked for better students to work with in a 4th and 5th grade combination class.  I will miss each and every one of them.
