Kindergarten News

May 6, 2011

Dear Parents,

Thank you again for your donations and presence at the Taste of Italy dinner and auction. It was good to see many former students and parents as well.

We are learning about insects. We have caterpillars in a netted container that will turn into painted lady butterflies in about a week.

We continue to work on special sounds and word families in reading. We will work more on addition and subtraction. We are still getting our coins mixed up so will continue working with money.

We got all the marbles in a jar for making good choices and had a popcorn/movie party. We watched a “Bible Man” movie. We are putting stickers on a chart again for these last few days.

We are busy practicing for Kindergarten Graduation. This is Monday, May 23. This is really coming soon! Your child will wear a cap and gown over their clothes (provided). The girls usually wear a nice dress with dress shoes and the boys usually wear a shirt with a collar, dress pants, and dress shoes.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Mrs. Smith

We are working on the twenty-third psalm in the King James Version. We are practicing it here at school so you really don't need to work on it at home. :)

Snack List

I am trying to make our leftovers stretch to the end of the school year.

Thank you parents for your generosity in providing our morning snack.
